His stint with Shelby Medical Centre, USA was the inspiration behind the name of the first hospital he founded in Ahmedabad-Shalby Orthopaedic Hospital and Research Centre in 1994. He was instrumental in paving the way for technological innovations in the field of Orthopaedics by introducing ‘The OS Needle and Zero Technique’ which revolutionised the outcomes of Joint Replacement Surgeries in India. Expertise

• OS Needle: Developed the “Operating Surgeon’s Needle” which can easily pass through both soft tissue and bone. Just before the development of the OS Needle, surgeons were forced to perform difficult soft tissue surgeries with a high failure rate.
• Zero Technique: Invented Zero technique, a revolution in surgical history, which helped reduce Knee Replacement Surgery time from 1.5 hours in 1994 to 10 minutes in 2012. With the use of this technique, the patient was able to experience less pain, zero blood loss and regain mobility within 3 hours of the surgery.
