INTRODUCTION

Dr. Rajiv Baijal is working as a senior consultant gastroenterologist at the Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute.

He specializes in diseases of the liver, gall bladder, biliary tract, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract, and functional bowel diseases.

He performs all kinds of diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopic procedures like Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP-CBD stone extraction, CBD stenting for palliation of pancreaticobiliary malignancy, pancreatic duct stone removal as well as stenting, stricture dilation, pseudo-cyst drainage, GI mobility studies (oesophageal and anorectal high-resolution manometry), 24-hour ambulatory pH-meter, endoscopic ultrasound, and single balloon enteroscopy.

Since 2008, he has served as the Head of the Department of Gastroenterology at Jagjivanram Hospital in Mumbai, which has been accredited by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, since 1994 for the super specialty degree of DNB (Gastroenterology). He also serves as a DNB guide and an appraiser for post-doctoral trainees pursuing a DNB in gastroenterology. Under his direction, six DNB candidates completed their course in DNB gastroenterology.
