INTRODUCTION

Dr. V. P. Choudhary is a senior consultant in haematology at Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad. He started his career as a lecturer in paediatrics with AIIMS way back in 1975. Apart from being in several faculty positions with AIIMS, he has also served as an honorary medical adviser to the Armed Forces Medical Services from June 2002 to June 2005. Since his post-graduation as MD (Paediatrics) from AIIMS itself in 1972, he has been receiving numerous awards and accolades from various medical societies globally, including the Silver Shield by the International Congress of Paediatrics in 1977 and the prestigious he is Awarded by the National Thalassemia Welfare Society in 2001. he is also an active member of a host of renowned medical societies, which include the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, the Indian Society of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine, and the Indian Society of Cancer Chemotherapists.
