INTRODUCTION:
Dr Hitesh Garg is the head of Ortho-Spine surgery unit at Artemis hospital, Gurgaon, India. With over 15 years of experience in spine surgery, he has worked at numerous world-class institutions, including Yale University in the United States and Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He completed his undergraduate studies at India’s top university, AIIMS in New Delhi, and his postgraduate studies at the esteemed KEM Hospital in Mumbai. Despite receiving an opportunity to become a faculty member in the United States, he decided to return to India in order to create an internationally recognized advanced spine center. He has contributed chapters in well-known spine surgery books, published both domestically and abroad, and has a strong academic background.
Including more than 2500 spinal fusions (TLIF, ACDF, etc.), 1000 deformity correction procedures (such as kyphosis and scoliosis), 300 lumbar and cervical artificial disc replacements, 500 fracture treatments, and 500 other complex surgeries such as spinal tumor, congenital defects, and spino-pelvic fixations, he has performed more than 5000 spine surgeries. He has a near-98 percent success record because he employs the newest, most advanced equipment during surgery, including neuromonitoring, O-arms, navigation, modular operating rooms, and microscopes.
He has operated on patients from more than 50 countries including USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uganda, Turkmenistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal besides India. Some of the most well-known national and international figures are among his clients, including army officers, ministers, celebrities, athletes competing on a national and international scale, physicians, and well-known national and international companies. Minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation spine surgery, cranio-vertebral and cervical spine surgery, and deformity repair for kyphosis and scoliosis are among his areas of specific interest.
