INTRODUCTION:

Following graduation at the esteemed Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, Dr. Pawan Rawal completed his postgraduate studies in gastroenterology and hepatology at the reputed Pt BDS PGIMS Rohtak. He stayed on at the same institute for a few more years after DM, during which time he developed expertise in clinical gastroenterology and hepatology and how to apply it to patient care. Having worked in this sector for over 12 years, he is knowledgeable with managing a wide range of luminal, hepatic, pancreatic, biliary, and systemic disorders. He has received in-depth training in hepatology and gastroenterology, both invasive and non-invasive. He has completed several push and double balloon enterostomies, ERCPs, capsule endoscopies, adult and paediatric upper G I endoscopies/colonoscopies, and ERCPs. Vasectomy, scleropathy, balloon and bougie dilatation, glue injection for fundal varices, polypectomy, argon plasma coagulation, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomies (PEG), enteral (naso-jejunal) tube placement, manometry, and all types of therapeutic biliary and pancreatic ERCP and EUS are just a few of the therapeutic procedures that he has performed with considerable experience. He has routinely attended CMEs, international therapeutic endoscopy seminars, and other national and international conferences. He is the author of numerous original articles, book chapters, reviews, and case studies, among other publications (both domestic and foreign).

His area of interest is education, and he teaches postgraduate students, nursing staff, other paramedical personnel, and DM fellows. He has given guest lectures at several esteemed conferences in India.
