INTRODUCTION:

Radiation oncologist Dr. Subodh Pande has extensive clinical and educational background. He worked at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai after receiving his MD in radiotherapy from the AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1977. There, he helped to establish the hospital’s paediatric oncology and neuro oncology services. In 1997, he relocated to the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi, where he contributed to the development of a state-of-the-art radiation oncology department and upgraded the capability for stereotactic radiotherapy. He was important in the commissioning of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Research Centre’s first linear accelerator, which was also a first for the State of Rajasthan, after being appointed Director Medical Services in 2005. He is particularly interested in the application of PET scan-based cancer management approaches and Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).
