INTRODUCTION:

With over 40 years of surgical expertise, Prof. T K Thusoo is quite experienced. He has served as a surgical examiner for postgraduate and undergraduate programs at the University of Delhi and other Indian universities. He has published in over 40 national and international journals. In addition to his extensive training in GI and laparoscopic surgery, he has a particular interest in endocrine surgery, specifically thyroid and parathyroid surgery, as well as breast surgery. He teaches at the esteemed Maulana Azad Medical College and the Associated Lok Naya K & G B Pant Hospitals in New Delhi.

Procedures

  • Endocrine Surgery: For over 20 years, I oversaw the clinic for endocrine surgery at Lok Nayak Hospital in New Delhi. I have performed over 1000 thyroid surgeries for both benign and malignant thyroid conditions, and I have a particular interest in thyroid surgery.
  • Cancer Surgery: General Internal Medicine (GI) Cancers, including Oesophageal, Stomach, Colon, Rectal, and Pancreatic Cancers; Breast Cancers; Thyroid Cancers; Genito-Urinary Cancers, including Bladder and Renal Tumours.
  • Laparoscopic Surgery: During 1993–1994, I received a WHO fellowship to train in laparoscopic surgery at several US hospitals for six months. For the past 20 years, I have been performing basic laparoscopic procedures such as appendices copies and cholecystmas on a regular basis.
