INTRODUCTION:

Dr. Randeep Guleria is the director of Medanta Medical School and the chairman of the Institute of Internal Medicine & Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. He had been the Director of AIIMS, New Delhi for around five years before this. He was Head of Pulmonary Medicine & Sleep Disorders at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and a former professor. He received the prestigious Padma Shri in the field of medicine in 2015.He was awarded the prestigious Dr. B. C. Roy National Award for Eminent Medical Person in addition to the Indian Chest Society’s 2014 Lung India Award for the best original essay in Lung India. He is the recipient of an Honoris Causa Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) from Amity University and IIT Kharagpur. In addition, he received numerous other distinguished honors, including the Himachal Gaurav Puraskar, the Swastha Bharat Samman for Medicine from LIC and Zee TV, and the 22nd Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence in 2021. Additionally, he consults and advises a number of national and international organizations, such as the IAEA (Vienna) and the WHO (Geneva).
