INTRODUCTION:

Vice Chairman of the Institute of Digestive & Hepatobiliary Sciences in Medanta Gurugram is Dr. Amrender Singh Puri. He graduated from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana with his MBBS and MD in internal medicine. After that, he worked as a lecturer in medicine for two years at CMC, Ludhiana (Punjab University) before joining DM (Gastroenterology). He started his career as an associate professor of gastroenterology at GB Pant Hospital in Delhi in 1992, following his graduation with a DM (Gastroenterology) from SGPGI, Lucknow. He eventually advanced to the position of Professor and Head of the Medical Gastroenterology Department, a position he held for more than 20 years prior to joining Medanta. He has been honoured with numerous awards, Times Healthcare Award in 2017 and Delhi Government State Award for Meritorious Service in 2014 to name a few. He has various publications, articles and chapters published in both national and international papers and journals.

• Headed Gastroenterology Department at G.B. Pant Hospital, Delhi from 2010 to 2020.
• Honoured with Times Healthcare Award – 2017 and Delhi Government State Award for Meritorious Service – 2014.
• Published more than 110 research papers in national and international academic journals of repute.
