INTRODUCTION:

As a knee surgeon, Dr. Vivek Dahiya has received thorough training in all areas of knee problems both in India and elsewhere. Following his completion of orthopaedic training in 2003, he worked as a resident at Fortis Hospital in Noida and Vasant Kunj in New Delhi. Since the hospital’s founding in 2009, he has been employed by Medanta The Medicity. He became the department’s Senior Consultant and worked alone in the Knee Unit until 2016. Following his tenure as Associate Director of the Knee Unit at Fortis Hospital in Gurgaon and Fortis Escorts Hospital in New Delhi, he returned to Medanta The Medicality in the role of Director of Adult Reconstruction Lower Limb. He is proficient in knee arthroscopy and also has experience with meniscus preservation, ligament reconstructions, cartilage repair and transplants, and simple diagnostic techniques. His areas of specialty include treating knee dislocations, reconstructing numerous ligaments, and employing osteotomies (surgical bone cutting to achieve alignment) to address complex abnormalities. Treatment of knee arthritis by knee replacement, partial or total is another area of his expertise. His area of expertise and interest is in treating total knee replacements that are infected.
