Education: MBBS, MS, MCh.

Department: Urology

Specialization: Urologist

Hospital: Fortis hospital

INTRODUCTION:

As the nation’s first pediatric urologist, Dr. Sekhon holds the unique distinction of being a trailblazer in the development of pediatric urology as a separate super-specialty. Following his training at PGIMER and SGPGIMS, two of India’s finest educational institutions, Dr. Sekhon has gone on to work in Delhi NCR’s premier corporate hospitals. Her compassionate approach to children, acute diagnostic abilities, and moral management style are the cornerstones of her therapeutic care. With almost ten and a half years of expertise in pediatric urology, Dr. Sekhon has treated about 10,000 cases to date. Complex genito-urinary reconstructions (hypospadias, exstrophy-epispadias) are her specialty. Her proficiency in endoscopic pediatric urology procedures (posterior urethral valves, stones) and minimally invasive (laparoscopic/key hole) procedures is unmatched. In India, she is among the few surgeons skilled in robotic pediatric urology, which includes ureteric reimplantation and pyeloplasty. She collaborates closely with a number of nonprofit groups that support sexual differentiation and genito-urinary malignancies. The most cutting-edge facilities in India for neuromodulation, biofeedback, and video-urodynamics have all been built by Dr. Sekhon. She has been actively promoting pediatric kidney transplants and transitional urology and enjoys great interpersonal interactions with both patients and doctors.
