INTRODUCTION:

With over 20 years of experience in brain and spine surgery, Dr. Rahul Gupta is the Senior Director and Head of Department for Neurosurgery at Fortis Hospital in Noida. Endoscopic skull base surgery, endovascular neuro surgery (complicated brain tumor and neurovascular surgery), pediatric neurosurgery, and minimally invasive brain and spine surgery are his areas of interest. He is skilled at handling cases with complicated spine and brain trauma. With a high success rate, he has carried out over 11,000 neurosurgical surgeries. He received his training at PGIMER in Chandigarh and Government Medical College in Rohtak. Before joining Fortis Healthcare in July 2012, he spent eight years as a teaching faculty member in the neurosurgery department at PGIMER in Chandigarh and GB Pant Hospital in New Delhi. In addition to publishing over 55 articles in reputable national and international scientific journals, he has given several presentations at national and international conferences. At Nagoya University of Medical Science in Japan, he received the prestigious Sugita Scholarship in 2011. Dr. Rahul received training in both functional neurosurgery in Amsterdam, Holland, and the use of fluorescence (5-ALA) in malignant glioma surgery in Graz, Austria. He participates actively in and is a member of numerous neurosurgical societies. He participates in numerous community engagement initiatives to raise awareness of brain and spine health. In Hindi and English, he has also authored a book on back pain. He oversees a successful DNB training program at Fortis Hospital in Noida and has directly mentored over 20 neurosurgery residents.
