INTRODUCTION:

The country’s first liver transplant surgeon, Dr. Vivek Vij, is recognized for having invented living donor surgery and standardized safety measures to get the best level of donor safety since the profile was first established. He is the first surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to disclose a series of patients employing laparoscopic donor hepatectomy in liver transplantation. He started a very effective liver transplant program at the Mohali and Noida locations of the Fortis group of Hospitals. He is the creator of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Sciences. With a record patient success rate of 97%, Dr. Vij and his team have collectively conducted over 2500 liver transplants. The majority of these procedures were carried out at Fortis Hospital in Noida. The lowest rate of biliary complications is due to Dr. Vij.
