INTRODUCTION:

At Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, Dr. Gargi Maitra serves as a Senior Consultant in the Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and Pulmonology departments. She received a gold medal for her MBBS from North Bengal Medical College in West Bengal. After completing her postgraduate studies in respiratory medicine at Govt. Medical College in Amritsar in 2011, she went on to PGI in Rohtak for super-specialty training in critical care medicine (IDCCM). She is also an ECMO trained specialist with ELSO certification. She received her training at Mahidol University in Thailand in rigid bronchoscopy and intervention pulmonology. She is trained in various advanced Pulmonary Interventions including EBUS- TBNA, Cryobiopsies, APC, Stent Placement, Electrocautery, Medical Thoracoscopy, Management of pleural diseases (like hydropneumothorax, simple or recurrent pneumothorax, pleurodesia), management of haemoptysis, treatment of airway obstructions, early diagnosis of lung cancers and staging of lung cancers, management of tumour related pulmonary complications. She manages all types of respiratory diseases, both acute and chronic, including critically ill patients on ventilators. At the national level, she routinely conducts and organizes a variety of continuing education seminars, workshops, and conferences. She has several publications in National and International Journals; has been a co-author in several chapters and is a co-editor of a book on Bronchoscopy in ICU. She has post MD experience of 13+ years to her credit in the field of Pulmonology, Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Interventions and Sleep Medicines.
