INTRODUCTION:

Dr (Brig) Pankaj Puri is the Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Fortis Escorts Liver and Digestive Diseases Institute, Okhla, New Delhi. An Alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Dr. Puri earned his DM in gastroenterology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, and his MD in medicine from Pune University. He completed a liver transplantation fellowship at London, UK’s Kings College Hospital. He was involved in the establishment of a successful liver transplantation program while serving as the Head of Department, Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences, at the Army Hospital (Research Referral), New Delhi. In addition to being the Head of Internal Medicine at Armed Forces Medical College Pune, he was previously a Professor of Medicine at Delhi University. He has authored more than 80 publications and is currently a member of the Indian National Association for the Study of Liver’s Governing Council. Dr. Pankaj Puri has been practicing hepatology and gastroenterology for twenty years. He is an expert in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and liver transplantation. He is also interested in treating hepatitis B and C, chronic liver disease, liver transplantation, and advanced endoscopic techniques.
