Open Heart Surgery in India (CABG)

A coronary artery bypass graft is also known as heart bypass surgery. It is a process that improves blood flow to the heart. When the artery is blocked or narrowed, this surgery is needed. It is a major surgical operation. CABG could be a kind of surgery that improves gut blood flow. To treat people who have severe CHD (coronary cardiovascular disease), this surgery is used. Coronary cardiovascular disease could be a sickness within A plaque (a waxy substance). Build up within the coronary artery. Oxygen-rich blood to the heart is offered by these arteries.

Over time, plaque ruptures, narrows the coronary artery, and decreases blood flow. It will cause discomfort, and it is referred to as angina.

SYMPTOMS

  • Breathe shortness.
  • Hands and feet are swelling.
  • Bad digestion (indigestion).
  • The heart rhythm goes abnormal.
  • Chest pain and palpitations.

DIAGNOSIS

  • CORONARY ROENTGENOGRAPHY: Use special X-rays and dyes to indicate the inside of the coronary artery. The tube is placed into a vessel in the patient’s arm or neck.
  • EKG (Electrocardiogram): It records heart-electric activities. It shows how briskly the patient’s heart is thrashing and its rhythm as well. It also records the signal and temporal order of the electrical signal.
  • ECHOCARDIOGRAM: Eco uses sound waves to make a motion picture of the heart. An echocardiogram, also known as a cardiac ultrasound, examines the heart.

SOME MORE CONSIDERATION

  • Other diseases and conditions of the heart.
  • General health and age.
  • CHD History of family (genetic), heart attack, and other heart diseases.
  • Treatment of heart disease history Including the procedure, medicine, and surgery.

TREATMENT

CABG (coronary artery bypass graft) is one of the methods for CHD. In this process, a healthy vein or artery from the body is grafted to the blocked coronary artery. The grafted vein, or artery, bypasses the blocked portion of the artery. It creates a new path for oxygenated blood to flow to heart muscle. During one surgery, the surgeon can bypass multiple coronary arteries.

OTHER CURE PROCEDURE

  • External counter pulsation (Enhanced).
  • Balloon angioplasty.
  • Keyhole surgery.
  • Coronary angioplasty.

 PRECAUTIONS

While some of these risk factors are manageable with medication and/or lifestyle adjustments, others are not. Among the variables controllable are:

  • Obesity and poor diet.
  • High blood cholesterol.
  • High BP.
  • Smoking.
  • Diabetes.
  • Physical activities.

There are some uncontrollable factors that include:

  • Medical history,
  • Family history,
  • Age,
  • Ethnicity.

DURATION

CABG surgery required nearly three to six hours. And a three- to eight-day stay in the hospital.

SUCCESS RATE

The success rate of CABG surgery is nearly 95–98%. It has a very high success rate.
